Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

• Upon arrival, the contractor was engaged in excavation using a CAT 349E to the south of the project site for a pond. Soil was being transported with tandem dump trucks CAT 745, while dozing and leveling were performed with a Komatsu 512PXi. Compaction work was carried out using a CAT 815F2
• Surge stone is being placed under the Pond area.
• Two (2) soil samples were collected for running a Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) back at our laboratory.
• Compaction testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear density gauge, along with general probing using a 3/8″ diameter probe rod.
• Density test results cannot be given at this time due to a lack of a proctor.  General probing was performed using a 3/8″ diameter probe rod on each lift.
• A proof-roll of the area was also performed with no severe pumping/rutting noted.
