Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Nature walk: Footings Inspection (Lot #1036)
- A Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test was performed for the Lot #1036 foundations, revealing the presence of small stones and rocks, which resulted in auger refusal at relatively shallow depths. DCP tests were performed on all four sides of Lot #1036:
- West Side: Auger refusal was encountered at a depth of 2 feet, with 13 blows at 1 foot. Refusal was followed by an offset at 2 feet, requiring 15 blows at 1 foot.
- South Side: Auger refusal was encountered at a depth of 2 feet, with 09 blows at 1 foot. Refusal was followed by an offset at 2 feet, requiring 13 blows at 1 foot.
- East Side: Auger refusal was encountered at a depth of 2 feet, with 08 blows at 1 foot. Refusal was followed by an offset at 1 foot with 08 Blows.
- North Side: Auger refusal was encountered at a depth of 2 feet, with 09 blows at 1 foot. Refusal was followed by an offset-01 at 1 foot with 15 Blows and offset-02 at 1 foot with 20 Blows.
These findings suggest varying levels of resistance in the subsurface conditions, influenced by the presence of small stones and rocks.
