Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
- Upon arrival, the contractor was engaged in cutting from the roadway using a Komatsu PC 360LC and from the south of the job site. Fill was being transported with two tandem-axled dump trucks and placed on the tennis court and adjacent parking areas, while dozing was performed with a Komatsu 39pxi.
- Rock boulders on the job site were being broken into smaller pieces using the Komatsu 210LC excavator.
- The next lift of fill was started on the tennis court & parking area.
Savannah Pipe Works:
The contractor started installation work on manholes D6 and D7 using a Kobelco SK 350LC excavator. Following excavation, the backfill material was not placed because of the presence of boulder fill. Rock boulders on the job site are being broken into smaller pieces using the Komatsu 210LC excavator.
Work for the remainder of the day was halted in the afternoon due to onset of inclement weather.
