Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Seven Hills: Amenities

  • Upon arrival, the contractor began cutting the roadway using a Komatsu PC 360LC to facilitate the placement of curb and Graded Aggregate Base (GAB) on both sides of the roadway. The excavated material was transported using two tandem-axled dump trucks to the tennis court and parking areas. Dozing operations were carried out with a Komatsu D85EX, followed by compaction performed using a CAT 563E.
  • Compaction testing was conducted using a Troxler nuclear density gauge, in addition to general probing with a 3/8″ diameter probe rod across the tennis court and parking areas. Proof-rolling was also performed to verify surface stability. The density test results indicate that the compacted materials met the project’s requirement of achieving at least 95% of the maximum dry density as determined by the Standard Proctor test (ASTM D698).
  • Curb concrete work commenced near the tennis court and parking area, with pouring completed for the day.
