Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representatives, Sean Willett and Clyde Smith, were onsite as requested to observe the grading/compaction of Lots #137 through #140. The fill used for compaction was sourced from the future retaining pond located west of Lot #137. The contractor placed approximately 2 feet of fill. Soils were placed in approximately 8-inch to 9-inch lifts at approximately 7 feet below finished grade. The soils were compacted using a sheeps-foot roller with a front blade and a dozer. The subgrade soils were tested for compaction via Drive Cylinder Method by Sean Willett and via Nuclear Guage Method by Clyde Smith. All compacted results were in compliance with job specifications. Below are the Nuclear Guage Method Results.
Nuclear Guage Model 3430 Serial Number 29588
Lot #138 W.W. Cu. Ft. 134.3 D.W. Cu. Ft. 114.4 Moisture 17.4%
