Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation of the installation of an OCP in the retention pond located by Lots #140 through #143. The OCP outlet pipe was undercut approximately 4 feet due to low compaction/high moisture contents of the backfill. The contractor filled the undercut with approximately 3 to 3.5 feet of riprap and capped the riprap with No. 57 stone for the bedding of the pipe. The contractor is backfilling and compacting the soil around the OCP and compaction testing will then be performed. At this time, no tests were conducted.
