Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Overview:
A proof-roll was requested by the owner of the Stonewood Phase 4 development to assess the condition of the Graded Aggregate Base (GAB) along the internal roadway, including the cul-de-sac, prior to paving. The evaluation was performed using a fully loaded, tandem-axled dump truck. In attendance were representatives from Oconee County and Upstate Curb and Paving.
Findings:
Approximately 2,000 linear feet of roadway was evaluated under loaded conditions. All proof-rolled areas, including the cul-de-sac, were observed to be stable. No signs of severe pumping, rutting, or deflection were noted during the inspection.
Conclusion:
Based on the observations made during the proof-roll, all inspected GAB areas within the Stonewood Phase 4 development were deemed acceptable and suitable for paving operations.
