Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Work was to continue behind Lots #224–#229 with the construction of the retaining wall foundation and the lots themselves.

However, due to recent inclement weather, the job site has become saturated. As a result, the material supply has been temporarily halted by the supplier due to similarly saturated conditions at their borrow pit. Consequently, no backfilling operations were carried out.

In response, the contractor has initiated drying efforts on-site in preparation for the continuation of work. Drying activities are being conducted using a Bobcat 265 dozer and a Bomag BW211 sheepsfoot roller to scarify, aerate and recompact saturated soils.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
