Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of soils. The contractor placed one lift approximately 8 to 10 inches for Lots #16 through #20. The technician preformed density tests, and results showed the moisture content exceeded the optimum moisture range for proper compaction. The results were provided to the contractor and the contractor stopped placing fill.

The contractor continued trenching for pipe around SSMH4.0 and SSMH2.0. SSMH4.0 had an undercut of approximately 1 foot and was filled with No. 57 stone to elevation.
