Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The contractor had previously set SSMH1.2 with a reported undercut of approximately 8 inches and bedded with No. 57 stone to elevation. The contractor began backfilling the pipeline to SSMH1.2 with a bridge lift of approximately 4 feet.
The contractor continued working on headwall BE 1. This was reported to be RCP at the invert elevation of 750.1.
The contractor continued placing fill in lifts of approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness across Lots #127 through #133. The contractor had previously placed a layer of fill across Lots #30 through #37 to elevation. The technician density tested these areas and provided all test results to the contractor. The technician recommended that the contractor allow wet soils to aerate/dry out to within optimum moisture content range before recompacting.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
