Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

The contractor previously backfilled the pipeline to SSMH1.2. The technician density tested the top 1 foot of fill. The tests showed low compaction, and the technician recommended to recompact this area.

The contractor continued placing approximately 8-inch lifts along Lots #127 through #133. The technician density tested this area and test results showed low compaction and high moisture contents. The technician recommended to aerate/dry out surficial soils prior to recompacting.

The contractor continued working on Head wall BE 1.

The contractor previously placed SSMH3.0 with a reported approximately a 1-foot cut, bedded with No. 57 stone to elevation.

All test results were provided to the contractor.
