Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals.

Proof-rolling was performed by our ASEC representative, Clyde Smith with the contractor’s equipment operator in attendance. During the process, several areas were identified requiring undercutting due to poor subgrade stability. The contractor completed the necessary undercutting and backfilled the areas with graded aggregate base (GAB) material, in accordance with project specifications.

Additionally, two bulk samples of fill material were collected on site and delivered to the laboratory for Standard Proctor testing to determine moisture-density relationships.
