Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The technician observed the contractor placing lifts over Lots #167 – 172. Lifts were placed in approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness. The contractor placed approximately 2 lifts and density testing will be performed in this area on the next available workday.
Our representative observed a proof-roll with a loaded offroad dump truck across the approximate location of Lots #140- 136. These lots showed signs of severe pumping and rutting. The technician recommended to excavate this area to remove wet soils and since over 10 feet of fill is required in this area, we recommend a compacted 2-foot bridge lift to start with fill placed in 1 foot lifts to follow.
The contractor (Robbie) continued working on SSMH5.1 pipeline. No testing was requested/preformed along this line.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
