Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The technician observed the contractor place 1 lift approximately 8 inches in thickness over Lots #127 through #133 and Lots #80 through #82. The fill was placed in approx. 8 to 12 inches in thickness.
Lot #127 and partially on Lot #128 showed signs of pumping due to wet fill previously placed, this was fill excavated from road cuts on the previous day. The technician recommended for the contractor to scarify the lift and allow ample time to aerate before compaction.
The contractor had their GPS system updated the previous day. They had two different elevation readings by a difference of approx. 3/10ths. The contractor is going back over finish graded lots/roadways to correct the elevations.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
