Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the mentioned date, the following activities were observed at the project site:
- The second lift of 6 inches of GAB for the deceleration lane was laid and compacted up until approximately 1:00 PM.
- Placement of 6 inches of GAB for the parking lots was ongoing.
- Work was underway to divert the project access road approximately 80 feet from the existing access alignment.
Observer’s Notes
- The narrow section of the deceleration lane, which was left incomplete on July 09, was compacted by the road contractor using a portable plate compactor.
- The GAB layer on the deceleration lane, along with some portions of the parking lots, appeared to be well compacted and ready for proof-rolling. However, no one on site was aware of when the proof-roll was scheduled to occur.
- Additionally, the GAB sample collected yesterday was transported to ASEC Laboratory to perform a moisture-density relationship.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
