Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The technician observed the contractor placed lifts approximately 8 inches in thickness across Lots #72 through #78. Lifts were compacted using a sheep-foot roller. The contractor will roll in the final lift with a loaded truck to seal it off from the rain. The technician will density test the final grade of these lots once this is completed.

The contractor stripped topsoil from the dog park/pickle ball court area located at main entrance of site (near Lots #88 through #90 area). A proof-roll was performed in this area with a loaded off-road dump truck. The contractor removed a trash pit (old asphalt and curbs) and began to place fill in this area. The trash pit was approximately 145ft x 11ft x 3ft deep. These measurements were provided to the contractor. The lift was placed in approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness and compacted via a sheep-foot roller and loaded off road trucks.

The contractor requested a proof-roll of Lots #173 to the approximate Lot #177 area. Pumping and rutting areas were shown to the contractor for removal. The contractor began placing fill across Lots #173 and #174.
