Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (Wilbanks) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.  The contractor began excavating the trench located on Lots #57 through #61. The contractor excavated approximately 5 to 6 feet of fill. The contractor then began placing approximately 1 foot lifts and compacting via a sheep-foot roller and loaded off road dump trucks. Our representative density tested this area and provided all test results to the contractor. On the final lift, the moisture content was above optimum moisture content. It was recommended to allow time for the soil to aerate before recompaction.

Soils were excavated from Lots #189 through #191. These are lots being cut to final elevation. Once excavation is completed a proof-roll of this area will be performed.

Curb crew continued installation of curbs in phase 1.
