Observations/Finding

At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe and monitor the contractor’s work activities from a quality assurance standpoint. The purpose of the visit was to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals, as well as to conduct quality control testing in accordance with project requirements.

During the night shift 540 cubic yards of concrete was placed at the PDK airport. The concrete was processed from the temporary batch plant of CWM located on the PDK airport premises.

Three (3) air content, slump and unit weight tests were performed along with the recording of outside and concrete temperatures.  All test results were found to be within project specifications.

Moreover, data loggers were placed inside the concrete for future temperature tests and monitoring.
