Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe (NG Grading) for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing blasted rock material from the northwest pond onto Lots #23 through #25. Lifts were placed approximately 1 foot in thickness and compacted with an 815 sheep-foot roller. It appears that the rock is breaking down as the sheep-foot roller passes over it. There is also a mixture of finer material in the lifts that are helping to fill in the voids. The contractor also placed a lift of finer blasted material (6-inch diameter or less) in the deceleration lane. All blasted material lifts were proof-rolled with a loaded truck to check for stability.
A controlled blast was performed at 12:00pm in the northwest pond area. The blast consisted of 12 holes that were drilled on the previous workday. There were no incidents. This is the last of the drilling/blasting at this time.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
