Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor removed topsoil from Lots #21 and #22. The contractor and ASEC performed a proof-roll of this area and addressed any pumping areas by undercutting to a more stable subgrade surface. This is also a deep fill area, consisting of approximately 20 to 24 feet of fill to be placed. As the contractor fills up the slope, they are benching out the natural ground to evenly install the lifts. The contractor is placing blasted rock material from the pond in these deep fill lots and is placing the lifts in at approximately 1 foot. It appears the size of the rock is breaking down as the 815 sheeps-foot compacts the lifts. There is also a mix of finer material in the blasted material to help fill any voids.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
