Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Lot 126 – Pod 21 North-East
All conditions at the site were observed to be satisfactory. The pipe was located beneath the reinforcing bars (rebars). Additional bars were placed to ensure there was no contact between the pipe and the rebars. The rebars were properly supported and not touching the ground. The reinforcement grid was inspected and found to be in good condition.
Two Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests were performed at the two corner locations of the lot. For each test, soil was augered and removed up to approximately 1 foot depth. The DCP test was started 1.75 inches above ground level, and the number of blows was recorded for every foot of penetration up to 4 feet depth.
Soil Type: Brown silty sand
DCP Test Results:
-
Test 1: 0–1 ft – 9 blows, 1–2 ft – 9 blows, 2–3 ft – 8 blows, 3–4 ft – 7 blows
-
Test 2: 0–1 ft – 7 blows, 1–2 ft – 8 blows, 2–3 ft – 7 blows, 3–4 ft – 8 blows
Lot 15 – Pod 14 North
Two Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests were performed at the two corner locations of the lot. For each test, soil was augered and removed up to approximately 1 foot depth. The DCP test was started 1.75 inches above ground level, and the number of blows was recorded for every foot of penetration up to 4 feet depth.
DCP Test Results:
-
Test 1: Soil Type: Red silty sand, 0–1 ft – 8 blows, 1–2 ft – 8 blows, 2–3 ft – 9 blows, 3–4 ft – 8 blows
-
Test 2: Soil Type: Brown silty sand, 0–1 ft – 7 blows, 1–2 ft – 9 blows, 2–3 ft – 9 blows, 3–4 ft – 8 blows
