Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative observed proof-rolling 0f subgrade soils at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #9 and #5. The proof-roll was also observed with members from Paulding Co. NWGP and Thompson Grading using a loaded tandem dump truck with 17.5 tons. It is our opinion the subgrade soils appeared stable under truck traffic except for some slight sheering or scaping under rubber tired equipment due to light weight sandy silt soils which are difficult to compact at the surface. The County identified three isolated areas in which were considered to be pumping which the writer probed also with a rounded end steel rod having penetrations of 2″ to 4″. It was agreed to clip these areas 2″ to 4″and replace with additional base stone. Other areas with moderate tire tracks were asked to be bladed. The grading contractor agreed to start placing the base stone using the onsite dozer in attempting to cover subgrade soils to protect from an anticipated rain event. The areas were marked for repair, and the grading contractor clipped the first area near the sanitary sewer manhole #9 and began placing base stone.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
