Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing fill in approximately 6 to 8-inches in thickness across the commercial lot area and Lots #8 through #13 and #52 through #60. The contractor spread the lifts with a dozer and then compacted with a sheep-foot roller. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. In the areas where pumping was present, the contractor was notified. The pumping areas appeared to be in the high traffic areas where the loaded trucks were turning around to dump. The contractor scarified and aerated this area and will recompact later in the day. Besides the addressed areas, the lifts appeared to be stable with no other pumping or deflection present. Density testing was performed, and all test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
