Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. Upon arrival to the site, the contractor started removing any frozen surficial materials from the previous night. Then the contractor started spreading one lift of approximately 6 to 8 inches in size across the commercial lot area and Lots #52 through #60 and #8 through #13. ASEC watched loaded trucks roll across the lift to check for stability. There was no pumping or severe deflection present in this area, and the lift appears to be stable. Density testing will be performed when the contractor places another lift to 2 lifts.
The contractor started moving topsoil for most of the day. Topsoil was taken from cut areas in the commercial lot area above the Connex at the entrance and from Lots #52 through #60. Topsoil was stockpiled by Lots #1 through #5 to be spread on the slope of the front detention pond once it has been built up.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
