Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. Upon arrival to the site, all three of the contractors 815 sheep-foot rollers were broken down. The contractor was attempting to bring Lots #20 through #25 to final grade. The contractor is using 1 small vibrating sheep-foot roller to compact this area.
The contractor placed approximately 1 foot of fill along the Lot #13 through #20 area. This lift consisted of a large amount of rock and is unable to be density tested. ASEC cautioned the contractor about placing any more lifts without proper compaction from a large roller. At this time, it appears the contractor is stopping fill in this area.
The pipe crew is continuing installing storm line in the greenspace along the roadside approaching the first entrance to the site. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor.
Due to equipment break downs and rainfall/holidays scheduled, the contractor will begin site prep and shut down site early. ASEC left the site.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
