Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
The crew excavated soils to the required depth and width in accordance with the approved plans. After reaching the design elevation, a layer of gravel bedding was placed at the bottom of the excavation, leveled, and prepared to support the structure and pipe. The precast concrete storm drainage structure was then lowered into position and set on the prepared gravel base. The existing corrugated metal pipe (CMP) was aligned and inserted into the opening of the precast structure. Bricks were installed around the CMP opening to shape and support the connection, and concrete was placed to seal the joint, securing the pipe. Following completion of the structure and pipe connection, backfill material was placed around the structure in 2–3 controlled lifts and compacted using mechanical compaction equipment.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
