Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

Upon arrival to the site, it appeared that the ground was still oversaturated from the rainfall during the weekend. Temperatures are below freezing, and there is a large presence of ice around the site. The contractor requested a recommendation on the ability to work in these site conditions. The contractor expressed concerns of driving trucks on slopes to deliver soil to the wall crew. Due to the unlikeliness of being able to properly compact the over saturated ground and potentially dangerous site conditions, the contractor decided to shut down grading operations for the day.
