Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Work continued at B1, where a corrugated metal pipe (CMP) was installed at the outlet of the precast concrete structure and aligned to grade. The gap between the structure and the pipe was closed using concrete to secure the connection and provide a watertight seal. A precast concrete lid was then placed on top of the structure, and the joint between the structure and the lid was sealed with butyl mastic tape. After completing the structure and pipe installation, backfill material was placed around the structure in lifts of approximately 6–8 inches and compacted.
Meanwhile, the other crew began work at Point A3 for the Up-Flo filter installation. The crew excavated the soil to the required depth and dimensions. After reaching the design elevation, gravel bedding was placed at the bottom of the excavation and leveled to provide a stable and uniform base. A precast concrete structure was then installed on the prepared gravel bedding, aligned, and set to elevation in preparation for subsequent installation of the Up-Flo filter system and associated connections.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
