Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date the writer was on site to observe the grading contractor continue placing fill for building Lots #63 and 64. The contractor placed rock fill blended with soil at deep elevations of -30′ stabilizing the existing subgrade. The writer performed density tests at elevations -28′ and -27′ using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results and rock fill placement was in compliance with job specifications. The writer also performed density tests for building Lots #57 through #62 at basement elevations -8′ thru -4,5′. Compaction results were in compliance with job specifications.

The pipe contractor continued 8″ PVC sanitary sewer installation between structures D12 and D13 backfilling. Hammering rock between D12 and D18 also continued with the contractor spending 4 hours effort.
