Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the placing of fill for the pavement area north side of site by performing density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results were not completed due to awaiting proctor results. However, in our representative’s opinion, compaction results were estimated between 90% and 92% with moisture contents ranging between 4% to 7% over optimum based on the material encountered and the compactive effort. Test results will be compared to our lab proctor for results. Stockpiled soils observed will require additional drying prior to recompaction to achieve compaction results of 98% at finished grade.
