Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew placed fill in approximately 8-to-12-inch lifts across Lots #44, and #96, #97. The fill was compacted using a sheep-foot roller. ASEC watched as loaded off road dump trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There was no severe pumping present at this time. Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor. The contractor continued placing soil lifts in the slopes near retaining walls #3 and #4.
Pipe crew continued installation of pipeline AA-7 to AA-8 in the greenspace area along backside of curb. Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor.
The wall crew continued installation of retaining wall #5. Due to their equipment breaking down, the grading crew has been helping the wall crew install the wall. The wall crew is spreading soil in lifts of approximately 8 inches in thickness, and the grading crew has been using their vibrating sheep-foot roller to compact the lifts. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
