Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew continued placement of soil lifts, consisting of approximately 8 to 12 inches in thickness, across Lots #44, #96, and #97. The lifts were compacted with an 815 sheep-foot roller. ASEC watched as loaded off road dump trucks rolled across the lift to check for stability. There was no severe pumping or deflection present at this time. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor.
The pipe crew is final grading the deceleration lane located at the entrance of the site in preparation for curb installation on Monday. Density testing was performed, and test results were provided to the contractor.
The wall crew continued the installation of retaining wall #5. Due to equipment break downs, the grading crew was helping install the wall. The wall crew is spreading approximately 8-inch lifts of soil across the wall and the grading crew is using their vibrating sheep-foot roller to compact the lifts. The wall should be on track to be completed today. Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
