Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue to place fill at both locations (building Lots #32 thru 37 and Lots #56 thru 62). Density tests were performed using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643 after recommended additional compacting efforts were performed at Lots #56 thru 62 using off road dump trucks rubbered tires to increase compaction on the fine silt soils. All compaction results were in compliance with job specifications.
The writer also observed the pipe contractor continue installing 8″ ductile iron pipe (DIP) sewer line between manholes #14 and 15. The contractor used the 490 backhoe excavator for digging the trench to install the sewer line through mostly soil materials. The pipe was bedded on No. 57 stone and soil backfill was placed over top of pipe. The contractor installed a total of 160 linear feet of 8″ ductile iron sewer pipe between manholes #14 and 15.
The second pipe contractor was on site continuing to install water lines at Unit 4- 1B.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
