Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew is spending the day spreading soil lifts of approximately 1 foot in size across the greenspace/slope areas near the commercial lots and along retaining walls #3 and #4. Density testing was performed along the roadway by Lots #44, and #96 – 97 area. This section of roadway will be excavated during sewer install later. Soil lifts were spread with a dozer and compacted using a sheep-foot roller. ASEC observed as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There was no severe pumping or deflection present at this time. ASEC recommended to remove approximately 6 to 8 inches of frozen ground before the placement of fill.
The pipe crew shut down for the day, and the wall crew was not present on site at this time.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
