Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the pipe contractor (Savanna) complete forming of the anti-seep collars at the Unit 4 phase 2 detention pond OCS. The contractor poured two anti-seep collars at the 48″ RCP between headwall #3 and manhole #1. The contractor also poured the invert in the bottom of manhole #1. A total of five cubic yards of 3500 psi concrete was poured for the OCS. The writer observed the anti-seep collars having reinforcing steel in place meeting job specifications for size, spacing and quantity.
The contractor also continued installation of 18″ RCP storm line between manholes #12 and 13 laying approximately sixty linear feet.
The water line contractor continued backfilling 8″ ductile iron water line behind curbing at phase 1A between Lots #25 and 22. The backfill was probed using a rounded end steel rod. The backfill observed containing some rock fill was suitable for compacting efforts of 93%.
The grading contractor continued placing fill for building Lots #65 and 66 at elevations -20′ and -18 ‘. Density tests were performed using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results were in compliance with site specifications.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
