Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
The crew resumed work between points D1 and D2 by installing the manhole lid and adjusting it to the required finished elevation. The lid and frame were set and sealed with mortar. After the structure was completed, backfill operations were begun using soil material placed in lifts of approximately 6 to 8 inches. Each lift was compacted using a double-drum roller.
The other crew installed ductile iron pipe (DIP) from point S1 extending toward S2. Following pipe placement, No. 57 stone was placed around the pipe. Additional soil material was then placed in lifts of approximately 6 to 8 inches. Compaction was begun using both a sheep-foot roller and a double-drum roller.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
