Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
A proof-roll was performed in the work area to evaluate subgrade stability. During proof-rolling, localized pumping/deflection was observed in some sections. The contractor excavated approximately 2 feet of soft, saturated material and replaced it with suitable fill. The replacement soil was placed and compacted back to grade. A follow-up proof-roll was performed after remediation, and the area was found to be stable.
Crew started earthwork activities for Lots #50, 51, and 52. Structural fill material was placed in lifts, each approximately 6 to 8 inches in loose thickness. The fill was spread and graded using a crawler bulldozer. After placement and grading, each lift was compacted using a sheep-foot roller.
At Lots #20 and 21 topsoil was cut and stripped from the designated areas. Unsuitable organic material was removed to prepare the site for grading. Following the stripping process, slopes were shaped and graded.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you
