Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

The grading crew is continuing the excavation of wall #1. Soil excavated from this area is being spread across the cut areas in the commercial lots. Further DCP testing will be conducted when the footing excavation is completed.

The paving crew began placing the binder in the deceleration lane and lane extension. ASEC measured station numbers and conducted density testing approx. every 50ft to 100ft. Test results were provided to the contractor. A loose sample was taken from the first truck to conduct further lab testing. The contractors placed approx. 3in to 4in of binder and rolled in the binder with a combination of a smooth drum roller CB2.7 and CB4.4. The paver is a P385c. The roll pattern was established and mapped out (included in the pictures). ASEC recorded temps of binder from the trucks before being placed in the hopper, and time that the trucks were onsite. After compaction, the binder is approx. 2.5in to 3in thick.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding
