Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue to place fill for Lot #66 and the embankment slope north of the pool house. The slope fill area consisted of rock fill with small amounts of soil materials being tracked with a dozer and compacted with a vibratory sheep-foot roller.

The drilling contractor continued drilling with two rigs at building Lots #42 and 43.

The pipe contractor continued installing 8″ ductile iron sanitary sewer pipe between manholes #10-1 and B-1.

The paving contractor (NWGP) was on site today and begin subgrade preparation removing washed silt (contamination) off previous placed base stone between manholes #6 and #9. After removal of silt materials, the remaining base stone was proof-rolled using a loaded tandem dump truck. Several isolated areas in both lanes had slight to moderate movement under traffic requiring undercutting of the soil sub grade and replacing with additional base stone. These areas were identified, marked and measured for undercut repair. The weight calculations were measured to be 252 tons. The contractor began undercutting recommended repair areas.
