Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue placing rock fill with size varying from one foot to over four feet in diameter from the previous blast shot for building Lots #47 and 48. The rock fill was dumped at the slope embankment added green area near sanitary sewer manholes #B5 and B6. The materials were being placed as rock fill without the addition of some fines as structural fill. Structural fill will require placing in lifts with sufficient fines to be compacted either by vibratory or off-road dump truck compacting.

The pipe contractor continued backfilling the sanitary sewer trench between #B9 and B11. Our representative observed compacting efforts and performed density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Density tests performed were in compliance with job requirements.

The drilling contractor (Advance) was on site and continued drilling with two rigs until one rig broke late afternoon. Drill logs are attached.
