Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day:

Removal of soil was observed within the future Taxiway A4 area in accordance with previously established remediation requirements.

Placement of geotextile fabric continued, followed by installation of approximately 12 inches of No. 4 stone. Work progressed in an east-to-west direction (see photos).

It was observed that recycled Graded Aggregate Base (GAB) was placed along both sides of the A4 taxiway storm drainpipe (see photos). The recycled graded aggregate base (GAB) was compacted adjacent to the pipe using a jumping jack for compaction.

During ongoing remediation activities for the Taxiway A4 and connector area at approximately Station 40+00, additional organic material, including tree remnants, were encountered. UES was notified, and the condition is scheduled to be evaluated and addressed the following day.

No further observations were made.
