Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew continued earthwork operations in Lots #49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 56, and 6. Backfill material was placed in lifts of approximately 6–8 inches thickness and spread evenly using a crawler bulldozer. Each lift was compacted using both a sheep-foot roller and a Caterpillar 815 compactor. Compaction testing was performed and results reported to the contractor.
At neighboring Buford area, pipeline work continued at the end of the previously installed 9-foot ductile iron pipe (DIP), two PVC pipes were connected in opposite directions to tie into the existing pipeline network. Following installation, gravel was placed around the pipe to provide bedding and support. The trench was then backfilled with soil in multiple lifts and compacted using a jumping jack compactor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
