Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Crew continued earthwork operations for Lots #47, 48, 20, 21, and 22. Backfill material was placed in lifts of approximately 6–8 inches thickness and spread evenly using a crawler bulldozer. Each lift was compacted using both a sheep foot roller and a Caterpillar 815 compactor.

In the neighboring Buford area, the crew continued backfilling operations by placing soil in lifts and compacting each layer to achieve the required density. Following this, additional excavation was carried out for a few more feet using a hydraulic excavator equipped with a rock grinder attachment to break through rock and extend the trench.
