Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative observed proof-rolling of subgrade soils for the roadway to phase 1B of Naturewalk Parkway. The proof-roll was observed using a loaded tandem dump truck loaded with 18.36 tons of base stone. The subgrade soils appeared stable under truck traffic with most areas having slight movement due to the consistency of the in place sandy silt materials. These areas were also probed using a rounded end steel rod indicating firm subgrade soils with surface materials sheering laterally under traffic. It was recommended to clip most areas -4″ and replace with additional base stone, pushing out over clipped surfaces. Also, the writer remained on site observing subbase stone placement.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us.
