At the Buford neighborhood site, the crew began work at the manhole by installing a corrugated HDPE sleeve (encasement) around the vertical DIP pipe. Gravel was placed within the sleeve to. Temporary backfill material was then placed around the pipe and structure to provide initial stability, with further compaction and final backfilling to be completed in subsequent operations.
