Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew continued to place soil lifts of approximately 8 to 12 inches in size across the lots located above retaining wall 1. They also continued to assist with the installation of retaining wall 1. The contractors are benching into the existing slope. Soil lifts were compacted using a vibrating sheep-foot roller. Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There were no signs of severe pumping or deflection present.
Blasted rock was spread across the temporary pond area located above retaining wall 1. A finer material lift was placed on top of each lift of rock to help fill any voids. This area was unable to be density tested due to the large size and quantity of rock. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There were no signs of severe pumping or deflection present.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
