Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Crew continued working at the retaining wall. Fill material was placed in lifts, spread using a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using jumping jack, double drum roller, mini-sheep-foot roller and full-sized sheep-foot roller. Compaction near the wall and around manholes was performed using a jumping jack compactor and a double drum roller, while the remaining areas were compacted using a mini-sheep-foot roller and sheep-foot roller.

During the filling operations, No. 57 stone was placed around the manholes and manhole risers were installed as required. Backfill material was placed around the structures in lifts and compacted.
