Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew continued embankment construction by placing fill material along the slope alignment using a tandem-axled dump truck, maintaining the designed 3:1 slope configuration. As observed on site, the material was dumped in designated areas and then spread uniformly using a crawler bulldozer to achieve the required grade and consistent layer thickness.
The fill was placed in lifts, typically 8 to 10 inches thick, throughout the embankment. Compaction operations were carried out using a sheep-foot roller. Field density tests were performed on each compacted lift using a nuclear gauge, which met the specified compaction requirements.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
