Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (CWM) and for the observation/testing of the placement of asphalt. The contractors milled approximately 2 inches deep along hangar B and Hangar C. The contractor began paving this area, as well as two lanes down the taxiway. Tack and fabric were placed on pre-existing asphalt. ASEC performed spot checks on the asphalt as it was being compacted to verify the contractors were properly compacting this area. Trucks were periodically checked for temperatures as they arrived on site. ASEC met with UES and CWM to discuss and provide test results. The roll pattern was altered by CWM due to persistent cracking along the taxiway and in-between the hangars. ASEC, CWM and Lead Edge will be meeting on the following morning to discuss the cracking and how to fix the issue in the most efficient way possible.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
