Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to meet with the paving contractor and the Paulding County official Mr. Mike Keener to observe existing asphalt conditions prior to placing asphalt topping mix at Mountain Ash Lane. Other areas that were not previously repaired by undercutting today were observed having slight to moderate alligator cracking in several areas. It was suggested by the county that Perma Flex would be a good fix for these situations and probably would be cheaper than undercut repairs. This was agreed to by the paving contractor also who stated he would check pricing and relay results to our client. Note that Perma Flex is a proprietary asphalt mix design for overlaying cracked surfaces. Its liquid asphalt bonding agents and specially sized aggregate materials adhere to and seal the orignal surfaces. Also, it was recommended to replace the concrete slab around manhole cover.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
